All About Etowah Youth Track Club Its Coaches and Members

About Us

Etowah Youth Track Club is a non-profit track club located in Woodstock. The mission of the club is to foster interest in track and field while motivating our athletes to demonstrate personal integrity, discipline and friendship.  We utilize the Etowah High School's track for training, but are not affiliated with the high school.

Joe Robinson
– Head Coach –
Conditioning/Conditioning/Conditioning & Long Distance

He has coached youth track and high school track for 8+ years as well as cross country. Etowah High School Cross Country won Regionals two years in a row for the first time in Etowah history. He is an avid runner and will be competing in the Boston Marathon for the 5th time this spring.

Sahu (Saw who) Johnson
– Head Coach –
Sprints/Relays/Long Jump

He holds several national youth titles and high school championship awards for the 400 – 1600 M as well as cross country. He was head coach of a high school team in New York as well as assistant head coach for a high school girls team.


Jack Watanabe
– Assistant Coach –
Sprints/Field Events

He ran middle to long distance in high school.

Rodney Beavers
– Assistant Coach –
Long Distance

He has no formal training or experience except the love of running. He runs marathons and you can see him running around Towne Lake.


Leon Morris
– Assistant Coach –
Sprints/Relays/Field Events
Level 1 Certified Coach

He was a long distance runner in high school and set the cross country course record his senior year. He ran the 800 – 2 mile races as well as the 4 x 800 relay.


Michael Packer
– Head Coach –
Javelin

Awaiting his “resume”, but he has several records in javelin and extensive knowledge in the javelin.


Tracy Stevenson
– President and Assistant to everyone

She ran track as well as cross country from 7th grade through sophomore in college. Her distances were 400 – 1600, as well as 4 x 400 relay, javelin, shot put, discus, long jump. She has taken the Level 1 coaching clinic and is in the process of getting certified by taking the exam.
